Police arrest male for dangerous driving

Yesterday, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

Owen Whaley, age 29, of North Bay, with:

  • one count of dangerous driving; and
  • one count of flight from police;

It is alleged that on July 3, 2017, at approximately 11 p.m., the accused was observed by police operating a motor vehicle in the area of High Street and Lansdowne Street in the city of North Bay. He accelerated his vehicle and made sharp turns. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the accused continued to drive at high rate of speed and disobeyed stop signs in the residential area. A brief pursuit was initiated by police but discontinued for safety reasons.

The accused was located a short time after in the area and arrested. He was released with a court date of August 22, 2017.
