Road Closures and Parking Notice for Armed Forces Day and the Lead up to Canada 150 Twilight Air Demo
Local students will be bussed to Canadore College’s Aviation Campus for a special Armed Forces Day air demonstration on Friday, June 16th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Then, during the evening of Saturday, June 17th, thousands of spectators will be treated to a special Lead up to Canada 150 Twilight Air Demo at the waterfront of Lake Nipissing. All are welcome to both events. Admission is free.
As a proud participant in the organization of Armed Forces Day and Lead up to Canada 150 festivities, the North Bay Police Service will provide traffic control, parade escorts and a visible police presence throughout the two-day event. In order to ensure public safety, the North Bay Police Service advises motorists of the following road closures and parking restrictions.

Friday 16 June 2017
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Canadore College Aviation Campus
55 Aviation Avenue, North Bay
Anticipated Audience: 4,200 local students and hundreds of members of the public
From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Aviation Avenue will be closed to traffic. Only designated vehicles, such as school buses, will be permitted access. North Bay Police officers will be patrolling Airport Road and surrounding areas to ensure proper traffic flow. Parking on Airport Road is very limited. Illegally parked vehicles that present a safety concern to motorists and pedestrians in these areas will be towed. Public parking will be confined to the established parking areas adjacent to the Jack Garland Airport buildings.
From 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Regular buses and free shuttle buses for the general public will be available to transport spectators from Memorial Gardens to Canadore College Aviation Campus and back again.
9 a.m.: Event opens.
2 p.m.: Event ends.
Lead up to Canada 150 Twilight Air Demo

Anticipated Audience: 8,000 to 12,000 spectators
From 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.: Memorial Drive will be closed to traffic. Only designated vehicles with assigned passes will be granted access. Parking information is available on the City of North Bay’s website at: cityofnorthbay.ca/cityhall/department/parking-department/
11 p.m.: Event ends.
