Man faces charges for assault with a weapon, threats and mischief

Yesterday, following an investigation into a 9-1-1 call regarding a threats complaint, North Bay Police arrested and charged an 18-year old man with:

  • One count of assault with a weapon;
  • One count of uttering threats;
  • One count of mischief under $5,000; and
  • One count of breach of probation.

In the morning of Monday, June 12th, 2017, the accused was in his North Bay residence with a family member. It is alleged that he caused damage to the walls of the residence and to objects inside with a broom. He is also accused of threatened to harm the family member with the broom. The family member was able to flee to a neighbour’s residence without injuries and from where police were called.

Police located and arrested the accused at his residence. He was held in custody for a bail hearing today.

In order to protect the identity of the victim, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the name of the accused.
