Collision involving motorcycle and van

North Bay Police were dispatched to McIntyre Street East and John Street yesterday (Monday, June 19th, 2017) at 11:29 a.m. in response to a report of collision involving a motorcycle and a van. Following an investigation by North Bay Police Service patrol officers and its Forensic Identification Officer, the driver of the motorcycle was charged with “Red light – Proceed before green” under Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act 144 (18).

At the time of the collision, the van was southbound on John Street and travelling through the intersection at McIntyre Street East on a green light. The motorcycle, travelling westbound on McIntyre Street East, crossed the intersection on a red light, where it was struck by the van.

The male driver of the motorcycle and his female passenger, as well as the male driver of the van, were transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
