Three face drug-related charges

On Friday, May 19th, 2017, shortly after 5 p.m., officers with the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit observed a suspected drug transaction take place between a male pedestrian and two men who were in a vehicle parked on Third Avenue West. Following an investigation, police arrested and charged the driver and his passenger.

Tanner Sullivan, age 18, of North Bay charged with:

  • One count of trafficking methamphetamine;
  • One count of trafficking marijuana;
  • One count of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking;
  • One count of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking; and
  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime.

James Goguen-Lanktree, age 22, of North Bay was charged with:

  • One count of trafficking methamphetamine;
  • One count of trafficking marijuana;
  • One count of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking;
  • One count of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking; and
  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime.

Police also arrested and charged a 59-year old North Bay male pedestrian with:

  • One count of possession of methamphetamine; and
  • One count of possession of marijuana.

Following a search of the three accused and the vehicle involved, police seized as evidence:

  • 110 methamphetamine pills;
  • 55 grams of marijuana;
  • drug paraphernalia; and
  • $170 Canadian currency.

The total estimated street value of the drugs seized is over $1,300.

The three accused were later released from custody with court appearances scheduled for June 27th, 2017.

It is the North Bay Police Service’s policy to release the names of those persons accused of “trafficking,” or “possession for the purpose of trafficking,” as described under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
