R.I.D.E. stops in North Bay & Callander
Over the evening of Saturday, February 4th, 2017 and early morning hours of Sunday, February 5th, 2017, North Bay Police officers conducted R.I.D.E. stops at three locations in North Bay and one location in Callander.
Results are as follows:
- A total of 100 vehicles were stopped.
- Three drivers were issued 72-hour notices for equipment and documentation infractions. These drivers have 72 hours to demonstrate to police that the issues have been corrected or otherwise face a fine.
- One driver, who failed to stop at a R.I.D.E. stop in North Bay, was later stopped, arrested and charged with drive over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.
Reminder to motorists
Motorists are reminded that driving impaired, whether under the influence of alcohol or drugs, is a criminal offence.
