Festive R.I.D.E stats
The results of the North Bay Police Service’s Festive R.I.D.E. campaign are in.
Over the holiday season, officers conducted R.I.D.E. on 13 different occasions, representing a total of 2,004 vehicles stopped. One driver was charged with impaired.
The North Bay Police Service conducts its Festive R.I.D.E. campaign aimed at reducing impaired driving from the end of November to early January every year when holiday celebrations peak. However, motorists are advised that police conduct R.I.D.E. stops all year long.
Under section 253 of Canada’s Criminal Code, driving while impaired by alcohol or a drug is a criminal offense.
