Young person faces charges
Following an ongoing investigation, the North Bay Police Service arrested and charged a young person with two counts each of making, possessing and distributing child pornography. It is alleged that the young person captured explicit imagery of other young persons in October 2016 and shared the imagery with others.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing. In accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing any information that may lead to the identification of the young person accused of committing these crimes.

An important message to parents and guardians
The North Bay Police Service encourages parents and guardians to inform their children that a sexually explicit photograph or video of a person under 18 years of age that is captured, saved, distributed or shared may be categorized as child pornography and may constitute a criminal offence.
