Man faces drug charges

On Fourth Avenue East shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday October 31st, 2016, North Bay Police arrested a male pedestrian—Bernard Ronald Soucie, age 43, of North Bay—who had previously been identified by police as a suspect of a recent attempt theft from vehicles.

Following a search of his person, police seized:

  • 14.5 grams of cocaine;
  • Saboxin (8mg pills x 21.5);
  • Codeine (50mg pills x 5);
  • Codeine (30mg pill x 1);
  • A small amount of marijuana; and
  • $1,460 in Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation, police charged him with:

  • One count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking;
  • Three counts of possession of a schedule I substance;
  • One count of possession of a schedule II substance (marijuana); and
  • One count of possession of property (cash) obtained by crime.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

The investigation continues.
