Festive R.I.D.E. launches today

The North Bay Police Service joins other local police services and first responders for the launch of the annual Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign.

The North Bay Police Service will be conducting R.I.D.E. traffic stops throughout the holiday season from now until January 2017, to ensure that the citizens of North Bay and Callander are safe on our roads. The Service reminds drivers to stay alert and sober when behind the wheel and encourages the public to help us stop impaired drivers, before they harm themselves or others, by calling 9-1-1 if they know or suspect someone is driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

About R.I.D.E.
Reduced Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) is a traffic enforcement campaign that helps to ensure that our roads and highways are safe for drivers and pedestrians alike. While the focus for the Festive R.I.D.E. campaign is during the holiday season, the program runs across the province, all year long. Police perform spot checks where vehicles are stopped and drivers are checked for impairment.
