Man faces assault charges
At police headquarters yesterday afternoon, following an investigation into several 911 calls to police on Wednesday morning regarding a loud dispute taking place in the unit of an apartment building in North Bay, North Bay police arrested:
Darian Lyle Laffrenier, age 22, of North Bay and charged him with:
- One count of assault causing bodily harm;
- One count of assault with a weapon; and
- One count of breach of undertaking.
It is alleged that on Wednesday September 26th, 2016, shortly before 6:43 a.m., in the accused’s residence, an altercation between him and a man known to him turned violent when the accused punched him and later hit him with a frying pan. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result and was transported to hospital by ambulance.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
