Woman faces charges for assault and attempt murder
This morning, following an investigation into a domestic violence incident, North Bay Police arrested and charged:
A 41-year old North Bay woman with:
- One count of domestic assault;
- One count of attempt murder; and
- Two counts of breach of probation.
It is alleged that in a North Bay residence last week, an argument between the accused and her male partner turned violent when she hit him. At approximately 2:45 a.m. this morning, in the same North Bay residence, it is alleged that the accused stabbed him with a kitchen knife. The victim was able to flee the apartment to get help.
The accused, whose name the North Bay Police Service is withholding in the interest of protecting the victim, was held in custody for bail.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of these incidents.
Domestic violence leads to charges
Following an investigation into a domestic violence incident that took place on Sunday, North Bay Police arrested and charged:
A 31-year old man with:
- Two counts of assault with a weapon.
It is alleged that in a North Bay residence shortly after midnight on Sunday June 19th, 2016, a verbal argument between the accused and his female partner turned violent when the accused swung a patio chair towards her. He later grabbed a kitchen knife and swung it at her. Neither the chair nor the knife hit the victim.
A short time later, police located the accused, who had fled the scene on foot.
The North Bay Police Service is withholding the name of the accused, who was held in custody for bail, in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim.
