Two men face drug charges
Following an investigation into a suspected drug transaction that was observed by police yesterday afternoon, North Bay Police arrested and charged:
Jacques Gaston Mazerolle, age 50, of Sturgeon Falls with:
- One count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking;
- One count of trafficking cocaine; and
- One count of possession of property obtained by crime.
A 35-year old North Bay man with one count of possession of cocaine.
It is alleged that on Tuesday June 14th at about 4 p.m., Mazerolle, who was in a vehicle parked on the 400 block of Main Street East at the time, completed a drug transaction with the 35-year old man.
Following searches of both men after their arrests, police seized:
- $410 in Canadian currency; and
- 9.2 grams of cocaine.
Both accused were released from custody with a court appearances scheduled for July 26th, 2016.
It is the North Bay Police Service’s policy to release the names of those persons charged with major crimes, such as the offence of trafficking, as described under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
