Man accused of assault with a weapon
Shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 19th, 2016, a complainant contacted police to report that a male neighbour, suspected to be impaired, was outside an apartment building on Clarence Street swinging a piece of wood. The neighbour was able to take the piece of wood away from the suspect, who left the scene on foot. Nobody was injured.
Following an investigation, North Bay Police located and arrested the man on Algonquin Avenue.
As a result,
Tristan Edmund Stephen, age 19, of North Bay was charged with:
- public intoxication under the Liquor Licence Act; and
- one count of assault with a weapon under the Criminal Code.
The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 9th, 2016.
