Woman faces charges following complaint of suspected tampered Fentanyl patches
Following an investigation into a complaint from a local pharmacy regarding the receipt of suspected counterfeit Fentanyl patches, North Bay Police arrested a 59-year old woman at her residence on Thursday April 14th, 2016 and charged her with:
- Ten counts of fraud under $5000; and
- Ten counts of drug trafficking.
It is alleged that on ten occasions from August 2015 to February 2016, the accused brought in counterfeit Fentanyl patches to a local pharmacy in order to renew her prescription under the Patch4Patch program. She is also accused of trafficking Fentanyl patches, with a street value estimated at $33,750, during this time period.
The accused was released from custody with a court date scheduled for June 7th, 2016.
