Weekend Occurrences

Over the weekend, the North Bay Police Service responded to 202 calls for service and arrested and charged seven people with the following offences:

  • One person was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon following a domestic occurrence;
  • One person was charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of breach of probation following a domestic occurrence;
  • One person was charged with one count of assault and one count of mischief following a domestic occurrence;
  • One person was charged with one count of assault following a domestic occurrence;
  • One person was charged with impaired driving and drive over 80; and
  • Two people were charged with public intoxication.

Woman faces charges following domestic dispute

Following an investigation into a domestic violence incident that was reported to police on Sunday, North Bay Police arrested:

A 38-year old woman at her North Bay residence and charged her with

  • two counts of assault with a weapon.

It is alleged that on the evening of Monday, March 28th, 2016, following an argument between the accused and her ex-partner who was staying in her residence at the time, the accused assaulted him, first with a clothes iron and then with a hammer. The victim later left the residence. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of this occurrence.

The accused, whose name the North Bay Police Service is withholding in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, was released from custody with a court date scheduled for April 12th, 2016.

Man faces charges following domestic dispute

Following an investigation into a domestic violence incident and the execution of an arrest warrant on Saturday April 2nd, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

A 34-year old North Bay man with:

  • one count of assault causing bodily harm; and
  • one count of breach of probation.

It is alleged that a verbal argument between the accused and his female partner, which took place in their residence on the evening of Wednesday February 24th, 2016, turned violent when the accused physically struck her. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result.

The accused, whose name the North Bay Police Service is withholding in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Woman faces charges following domestic dispute

Following an investigation into a domestic violence occurrence, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

A 39-year old North Bay woman with:

  • one count of assault; and
  • one count of mischief.

It is alleged that on Friday April 1st, 2016, at about 7 p.m., a verbal dispute between the accused and her male partner in their shared residence turned violent when the accused punched him and pulled at his clothes, causing damage. The accused then left the residence on foot. Police located and arrested her shortly thereafter.

The accused, whose name the North Bay Police Service is withholding in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Public’s assistance sought in theft investigations

The North Bay Police Service seeks the public’s assistance with the following theft investigations.

Theft from vehicle
This morning, a complainant contacted police to report that sometime overnight, a cell phone charger and cash were stolen from a vehicle parked at a residence on Moffat Avenue.

Stolen bicycle
On Saturday, a complainant contacted police to report a stolen bicycle described as:

  • a black BMX bike
  • with red painted handles, a black seat, and a black kickstand
  • stolen from the backyard of a residence on Robarts Avenue sometime between 3:15 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. on Saturday April 3rd, 2016.
