Targeted traffic enforcement

The North Bay Police Service’s traffic officer, working in partnership with patrol officers, conducted a targeted traffic enforcement yesterday morning on Algonquin Avenue from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and on the overpass from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon.

The results are as follows:

  • 23 speeding tickets issued (the highest speed was 73 km/hr on Algonquin Avenue);
  • two distracted driving tickets issued (drivers were using cell phones);
  • one ticket issued for not stopping at a red light; and
  • three 72-hour notices issued for documentation (drivers have 72 hours to show police their insurance slip or validation stickers, or otherwise face a fine.)
