Woman faces charges for assault causing bodily harm
Following an investigation into an assault reported to police shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday, March 18th, 2016, and the execution of an arrest warrant on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016 at the North Bay residence where the accused was staying, North Bay Police arrested and charged:
Anita Knapaysweet, age 41, of North Bay with:
- One count of assault causing bodily harm;
- One count of uttering threats; and
- One count of breach of probation.
It is alleged that a verbal argument between the accused and her female friend, which took place in her friend’s North Bay residence on Friday, March 18th, 2016, turned violent when the accused physically hit her and threatened her. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result and was transported to hospital by ambulance that evening.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing today.
