Weekend Occurrences

Over the weekend, the North Bay Police Service responded to 207 calls for service and arrested and charged 11 people with the following offences:

  • One person was charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of breach of probation;
  • One person was charged with one count of assault;
  • One person was charged with one count of mischief under $5000 and one count of breach of probation;
  • One person was charged with public intoxication;
  • One person was charged with two counts of theft under $5000 (shoplifting), one count of attempt theft; two counts of possession of stolen property; one count of possession of marijuana; and 12 counts of breach of probation;
  • One person was charged with public intoxication and one count of domestic assault;
  • One person was charged with impaired driving and drive over 80;
  • A young person was charged with two counts of unlawfully in a dwelling and one count of weapons dangerous;
  • Two people were charged with breach of recognizance; and
  • One person was charged with one count of breach of recognizance and one count of breach of probation.

North Bay woman charged with assault causing bodily harm

Following an investigation into an assault complaint reported to police on Friday afternoon, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

Adwenna Peters, age 19, of North Bay with:

  • one count of assault causing bodily harm; and
  • one count of breach of probation.

On Friday March 18th 2016, the accused was visiting her female friend in her friend’s home. It is alleged that at about 3 p.m. that afternoon, a verbal argument between the two turned violent when the accused bit her. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
