Weekend occurrences

Over the weekend, the North Bay Police Service responded to 193 calls for service and arrested and charged nine people with the following offences:

  • One person was charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000; one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking; two counts of possession of a controlled substance;
  • One person was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000;
  • One person was charged with one count of possession of marijuana under 30 grams and one count of breach of probation;
  • Two people were charged with assault;
  • One person was charged with one count of uttering threats;
  • One person was charged with one count of breach of probation and one count of unlawfully at large;
  • One person was charged with public intoxication; and
  • One person was charged with forcible entry.

Two face drug charges

Following an ongoing Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation, a traffic stop conducted at Delaware and Landsdowne and the execution of a search warrant at a residential address on Aberdeen Avenue in the early morning hours of Sunday January 24th, 2016, officers with the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime unit arrested and charged:

Corey Jason Lamarre, age 27, of North Bay with:

  • Two counts of possession of a controlled substance;
  • One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking; and
  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

A 27-year old North Bay woman was charged with:

  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000; and
  • One count of possession of a controlled substance.

As a result of the investigation, North Bay Police seized the following as evidence:

  • Seven grams of crack cocaine;
  • 1.7 grams of marijuana;
  • 90ml of 20mg Methadone;
  • a large amount of Canadian currency, estimated to be over $5000.

The total street value of the drugs seized is estimated at $800.

Lamarre was held in custody for bail, while the second accused was released from custody with a court date scheduled for March 8th, 2016.
