North Bay woman faces charges for domestic incidents

Following an investigation into a domestic dispute reported to police shortly before 10 p.m. on Monday January 4th, North Bay Police have arrested a 22-year old North Bay woman and charged her with:

  • One count of domestic mischief;
  • Two counts of assault with a weapon;
  • One count of assault;
  • One count of uttering threats; and
  • One count of breach of probation.

It is alleged that between November 24th and December 15th, an argument between the accused and her male common-law spouse turned violent when the accused caused damage to their shared North Bay residential unit. Another argument between the two that was reported to have occurred on January 3rd at about 9 p.m. in their shared unit turned violent when the accused struck him with a household object. On January 4th, between 9 a.m. and 12 noon, a third reported verbal dispute between the accused and the victim turned violent when she physically assaulted him, wielded a knife at him, and threatened him.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the last occurrence.

North Bay Police seized a hooked knife as evidence.

The accused, whose name the North Bay Police Service has withheld in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, was held in custody for bail.
