Blenheim man faces charges for impaired and dangerous driving

Shortly after 7 p.m. on Monday November 30th, an off-duty North Bay police officer, who was travelling in his own vehicle, witnessed a man in a GMC pick-up truck travel at a high rate of speed from the overpass to McIntyre Street to Algonquin Avenue. The officer reported the dangerous driving to police, who were immediately dispatched to the scene. The driver of the pick-up truck continued to speed towards Airport Road and then Duxford Road. Military Police were notified and the vehicle was stopped shortly thereafter.

Following an investigation, North Bay Police arrested and charged the 56-year old male motorist of Blenheim, Ontario with:

  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;
  • Impaired driving; and
  • Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood.

The accused was subsequently released from custody with a court date scheduled for December 8th, 2015.
