UPDATE: Female located; Tilden Lake man charged with assault causing bodily harm
The following is an update to Twitter communication from @NorthBayPolice over the weekend as well as a news release the North Bay Police issued yesterday about a suspicious incident.
As previously released, a concerned citizen contacted police shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday October 25th to report that a young female either jumped or was pushed out of a parked pickup truck at the corner of Beattie and Bloem, and that she appeared injured and refused help. Police were unable to locate her at the time and requested the public’s assistance for information.
Following information reported to police yesterday, North Bay Police have located and spoken to the 24-year old woman.
As a result of the investigation into this incident, North Bay Police arrested a 27-year old Tilden Lake man at a local motel yesterday on outstanding warrants with the Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police for fail to attend court, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a prohibited weapon. North Bay Police also charged him with one count of assault causing bodily harm and seized his pickup truck for further investigation.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing today.
In the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, who is in a relationship with the accused, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the name of the accused.
