Two Ottawa men face drug trafficking charges

Following a Street Crime Unit Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation and a traffic stop conducted at Hwy 11 and Hwy 17 shortly after 7 p.m. on Thursday 23 October 2015 , North Bay Police arrested and charged two Ottawa men.

Michael Isaac Hansen, age 31 of Ottawa, who was held in custody pending a bail hearing, faces the following charges:

  • One count of possession of marijuana;
  • One count of possession of methamphetamine pills; and
  • One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

David Robert Hansen, age 55 of Ottawa, who was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for 24 November 2015, faces the following charges:

  • One count of possession of marijuana;
  • One count of possession of methamphetamine pills; and
  • One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

As a result of a search after the traffic stop and the arrests, North Bay Police seized as evidence:

  • 13.5 grams of marijuana;
  • six methamphetamine pills; and
  • 84 grams of cocaine.

The total estimated street value of the drugs seized is $10,000.
