UPDATE-POLICE SEEKING FOR TWO SUSPECTS-SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED
(NORTH BAY, ON) – Members with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North Bay Detachment and the Crime Unit continue their investigation into the August 30, 2015 home invasion which occurred at a residence on Songis Road in Redbridge at approximately 4 a.m.
Three males wearing a disguise and believed to be armed broke into the home while the owners were asleep before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash. A short time later, the suspect vehicle was stopped in the city of North Bay on Carmichael Drive by members of the North Bay Police Service (NBPS) where the driver was arrested. The three passengers fled the vehicle; one of the suspects was apprehended a short distance away while the two other suspects remained at large. An extensive ground search was conducted without success with the assistance of the NBPS and Military Police and several OPP resources.
Investigation into the two outstanding suspects continues. At this time, OPP have charged and held for bail:
Daniel THERIAULT, 28, of North Bay
- Robbery Using Firearm, as per section 344(1)(a.1) of the Criminal Code (CC);
- Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence as per s. 348(1)(b) of the CC; and with
- Disguise with Intent as per s. 351(2) of the CC.
Scott GUINDON, 33, of North Bay is charged with:
- Robbery Using Firearm, as per s. 344(1)(a.1) of the CC; and with
- Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence as per s. 348(1)(b) of the CC.
The home owners were not injured during the incident. Anyone who may know of the whereabouts of these wanted suspects or who may come into contact with the suspects should not approach them. Instead, contact the police as soon as possible by calling 9-1-1.
