UPDATE: North Bay man faces more sexual assault charges

This news release is an update to a release we issued on Friday August 14th, entitled “North Bay man faces sexual assault charges.”

On August 24th, 2015, the North Bay Police notified the 73-year old North Bay man, who remains in custody at the North Bay Jail, that he faces seven additional charges, which are:

  • Three counts of indecent assault on a female;
  • Three counts of gross indecency; and
  • One count of intercourse with a female under 14.

It is alleged that on separate occasions from 1961 to 1973, the accused committed sexual acts against three more victims, all females, aged between 4 and 17 at the time of the offences. All victims were known to the accused, who was in a position of trust over each of them, but not in a public capacity.

In the interest of protecting the identities of the victims, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the name of the accused.

It is possible that there are more victims. Persons with information related to this investigation are asked to speak to Detective Constables Scott Buchanan or Dave Wilson, of the North Bay Police Service, at 705-497-5555.

The investigation continues.
