Over the Civic Holiday long weekend, North Bay Police responded to 369 calls for service, and arrested and charged 17 people with the following offences:

  • Six people were charged with public intoxication;
  • Two people were charged with public intoxication and breach of OIC undertaking;
  • Two people were charged with domestic assault;
  • One person was charged with theft and breach of probation;
  • One person was charged with theft;
  • One person was charged with uttering threats;
  • One person was charged with one count of breach of recognizance;
  • One person was charged with two counts of breach of probation; and
  • One person was charged with two counts of breach of recognizance.
  • One person was charged with two counts of uttering threats, three counts of assault, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of sexual assault with a weapon, one count of break enter and commit, one count of sexual assault, one count of mischief, one count of theft and six counts of breach of undertaking.

North Bay man faces domestic assault charge

Last night, North Bay Police responded to a 911 call regarding a report of a domestic assault. Following an investigation, police arrested and charged a 21-year old North Bay man with one count of assault. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
It is alleged that at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Monday August 3rd, a verbal dispute between the accused and his common-law spouse turned violent. The accused then fled the residence and the victim called 911 to report the assault. North Bay Police located the accused shortly thereafter walking near the residence where he was arrested.

In the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the name of the accused.

North Bay man faces several domestic-related charges

Shortly before 4 a.m. on Friday July 31st, North Bay Police responded to a 911 call from a concerned citizen who reported a suspected domestic dispute between a man and a woman which took place at a North Bay residence.

Following an investigation, North Bay Police arrested and charged a 28-year old North Bay man with:

  • Two counts of uttering threats;
  • Three counts of assault;
  • One count of assault with a weapon;
  • One count of sexual assault with a weapon;
  • One count of break enter and commit;
  • One count of sexual assault;
  • One count of mischief;
  • One count of theft; and
  • Six counts of breach of undertaking.

It is alleged that, on separate occasions between July 11th and July 31st, the accused choked, threatened, and physically and sexually assaulted the victim. He is also accused of throwing an object at her and sexually assaulted her with it, of breaking into her residence, of causing damage to her mobile phone, and of stealing her mobile phone, her bank card and her car keys.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

In the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the name of the accused.
