A Sturgeon Falls man faces several charges today following a domestic dispute which occurred while he and his female partner were visiting North Bay.
On Tuesday August 25th at approximately 11:45 a.m., a concerned citizen contacted police to report a heated verbal argument between a man and a woman which was heard coming from the bush near the tracks off Main Street West. Following an investigation, North Bay Police arrested and charged a 31-year old Sturgeon Falls man with:
- One count of forcible confinement;
- Two counts of assault;
- One count of assault with a weapon;
- One count of uttering threats; and

It is alleged that a verbal argument between the couple turned violent when the accused physically assaulted her, prevented her from leaving the area, used a tree branch to hit her and threatened her.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
In the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of this incident, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the name of the accused.
