Weekend Occurrences

Over the weekend, North Bay Police responded to 233 calls for service, and arrested and charged 12 people with the following offences:

  • One person was charged with one count each of sexual assault, assault and unlawfully in a dwelling;
  • One person was charged with one count each of mischief under $5000 and causing a disturbance and three counts breach of probation;
  • Three people were charged with public intoxication;
  • One person was charged with one count each of possession of marijuana, breach of probation, possession of an edged weapon for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a weapon;
  • One person was charged with domestic assault;
  • One person was charged with mischief under $5000 related to a domestic dispute;
  • One person was charged with mischief under $5000;
  • One person was charged with theft under $5000 (shoplifting);
  • One person was charged with five counts of breach of Officer in Charge (OIC) undertaking and one count of breach of probation; and
  • One person was charged with breach of OIC undertaking.

North Bay man faces charges for sexual assault, assault and unlawfully in a dwelling

On Friday July 10th at approximately 8 p.m., following an investigation, North Bay Police arrested and charged a 35-year old North Bay man with one count each of sexual assault, assault and unlawfully in a dwelling.

It is alleged that on Thursday July 9th, 2015 at approximately 10:30 p.m., a female teenager known to the accused visited him in his workplace where he sexually and physically assaulted her. When the victim left the premises on foot, the accused cycled to her residence and entered it unlawfully before she arrived. Upon her arrival, the victim needed to wake up her parents for assistance in getting the accused to leave the premises.

North Bay Police will not be releasing the name of the accused as doing so may lead to the identity of the victims.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
